Review of The shadow of the dark soul by Sukhmani Gandhi

Blurb

Zayesha is a twenty something journalist working in Delhi. Sensitive and compassionate she is a league apart from her contemporaries, who believe in the mantra of manufacturing or making news. Concerned by her boss, she fights against time to work on the Nirbhaya case in order to save her job. Synchronicity plays a crucial life-altering role in her life when a series of events make her question herself during this phase ,Zayesha comes across The Shadow of the Dark Soul, thanks to her next door neighbor. Nothing stays the same afterwards as Zayesha is made to reassess everything. Will she manage to finish her report on time ? How far will she go to step from armchair activism into the realities of life? Will she win in the end?
The questions are many but the answers lie within "THE SHADOW OF THE DARK SOUL"

Review

The shadow of the dark soul is basically about "Change , what we want to see in the world". Being a debut novel , the way Sukhmani Gandhi present such a wonderful story. The story also interacted  with the real survivors , the pain they go through and how they overcome is remarkable. The best thing in this book is its fantastic message, when we want a change in our society first we need to change, rather then only talking about change.I had tears in my eyes , when the girl said 'raped daughter'.
This book revolves around Zaisha , a journalist who is assaigned research work on  The Nirbhaya case by his boss. Being a journalist she has to submit her research on time otherwise , she will be fired from her job.
What happened in The shadow of the dark place? What changed her mind?

Positives

I like the way author presented the story despite being a crucial topic,  the love story gives us a break. The way they respected their love was cute. The title and the story itself touches my heart.

Negatives

There are some errors which should be omitted .

Favourite Quotes

Review of Second Spring by Sandhya Jane

Blurb

This is Avantika's heartfelt journey through love and life...
As a smart, successful, thirty-eight-year-old single mother, Avantika seemingly has it all: a great career as a seasoned banking professional, respect and admiration from her peers as an able leader , fulfillment as a mother, and so many other things. What is it , that drives her towards Ronan , a man six years junior? He is  who ideally would not occupy much room in Avantika's otherwise sorted mind space. She has told herself she has no time for love. Then why does she make the choices she makes? Is it the emotional vacuum? A need to relive life? A feeling that life as she has truly lived and felt is passing by her by?
However, she struggles with her feelings, Avantika and Rohan part ways....only to meet again. To what end? Why does Rohan want her back...and why now? So many questions! Very few answers!
Can love give second chances?

Review

This is a heart melting story deals with Avantika and Rohan. The story is narrated in two parts, part one deals with love story between Avantika and Rohan and best part is step by step their love is proceeding with hardships. After playing hide and seek with their feelings they finally had a confession. Life is full of uncertainty, so with the love birds.
Second part is about new start in Avantika's life. It seems you are reading a fresh part and second part is full of suspense which grabs readers attention more.
I loved the end which I never thought will happen and it was wonderful. I enjoyed reading this book.
The style of writing was simple yet full of emotions  and book comprises of Avantika's and Rohan's viewpoint  which is quite different but interesting.

Positives

I really like the style of narrating full of emotions. All the characters are strongly built and I like Avantika's character through all hardships she managed everything well in her career being a single parent. I also like its ending which gives us a message to be in real present.

Negatives

There's no need for extra explanation in the story. In the second part  at the starting, Rahul's character was ignored  and when I read about him  I was  bit bored.

Favourite quote

Life is beautiful. Life is great.
It has no place for confusion, no time for regrets ,and no chance for living in the past....just the present and today seems to be a "real present".

Review of #I am 16 I can rape

#I am 16 I can rape by Kirdita Gautam

Rape...whenever we heard this word our mind start dragging with tons of fear and secondly we pray it will never happened with anyone. There will be not a single day in India when we don’t heard any news about rape, it’s a daily meal serving to society nowadays.
Everybody told us don’t go out late , but my question is Rape cannot be commit in day? Its our sick mentality about rape that if we go out we will be raped. A rapist never think to rape in day or night .He pick someone who is always weak , someone make his fantasies come true. Rape can be committed to any person at any point time.
Whenever any rape is committed  , people mostly talk about punishment. But often we forget to talk how we need to go about eradicating it from source.

About the Book
“#I am 16 I can rape” this title speaks itself alot , it gives a tight slap to our system . I truly appreciate the author for this powerful title.
Rudransh Kashyap is a self-made billionaire and a man with moral principles. He runs India’s best IIT coaching institute. Rudransh had always believes in his grandson, he wont harm anyone , he never thought in his worst dream that his Champ can commit such a big crime rape. He reached at a point where he had everything but because of his Champ he failed in his own eyes.
Aarush is a intelligent guy ,he can easily manipulate people around him without knowing it. He is someone who can make you fall in love. His character has so many stars that I wont be able to believe that he is a villan.
Subhangi Tyagi  is a victim , I truly appreciate her for his fight and guts. She stood herself even in her last breath. She knew that our system will not change but she stood against the  juvenile system.
Arush was playing a game of manipulation and at the end he lost his battle.
To destroy great EVIL , GOOD has to shed tears of Blood.

My views
When I got this book I had lots of work that day but this title is something which made me to read . It is a book full of suspense which grabs anybodies attention. All the characters revolving in my mind till the time I complete it . I eat , work , attend classes thinking about characters , this book is very special for me it made a deep impression in my mind deeply. I never think about rape the way I read in this book. I truly recommend this book to every teenager and all parents it’s a must! must! read book .

Negative points

Truly there is nothing negative in this book , but there were some abbreviations which was irritateing . They must be cleared so that the reader also know .

Favourite quote
Lab pe aati hai dua ban ke tammana meri,
Zindagi samma ki soorat ho khuda ya meri.

As explained by Author , O almighty ! The desire of my heart plays on my lips in form of a prayer that my life should be like a light that brightens the world.

Conclusion
We need to change our system so that , juvenile doesn’t even think of commiting this worst crime. The law in the country doesn’t make the juvenile scared because he knows he will remain untouched because he is a juvenile.

A big congratulations for creating such a master piece Kirtida Gautam . The way you created plots , every emotions and characters which I cannot described in words . This book will always remains with me ,it really touched my heart. I laughed I cried I scared while reading this book whatever worked I do I was in my thoughts about characters what will happen next.
I am truly fortunate to read your master piece. A big salute   to you Ma’am.
